Position Overview:
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our client's Medical Billing team in areas such as Verification, Claims Entry, Clearing House, and Claims Follow-up. Ideal candidates will have experience in medical billing and coding (or equivalent experience in areas of Customer Service and Management). Medical background is a plus, but not necessary. This is a full-time, office setting position with the opportunity for growth and advancement.
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and insurance companies
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and coding guidelines
Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing
Review and process medical claims accurately and efficiently
Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies
Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims
Manage accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding (or in management, customer service roles)
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding helpful
Familiarity with insurance plans and reimbursement processes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus
