About the unit
We are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. Each floor has Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. It has a dementia unit, two long term care units and a rehab unit. Each unit focuses on patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries and cancer. Cedar Street offers various programs for residents to participate in including music therapy, expressive arts and a garden room.
About Rehab and Nursing Center-Cedar
The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Cedar was designed with the word home in mind. The home is more spacious than the previous 52-year-old Fuller Street facility and boasts many new amenities, including four spacious interior courtyards; a new dining room; on-site dialysis den; art room, private and semiprivate rooms with their own window, restroom and shower; modern furnishings; and new technology, to make these community members feel at home.
Scope of work
The responsibilities of this position include planning, implementing/conducting and evaluating appropriate activity opportunities for patients. This role supports the health care team in promoting therapeutic services and/or programs. This role is also involved in conducting/implementing community and hospital based programs or special events as designated.

Qualifications
+ Required High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Preferred Associates Degree in recreational therapy or related degree
+ Preferred Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist- NCTRC
+ AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 60 days
