Role Description:
The

Lead CMM Programmer

must have at least 5+ years of experience. In this position, you will be accountable for the programmed inspection methodology in a fast-paced Manufacturing plant.
You will assist a team working collaboratively to meet customer and production quality and delivery expectations.

You will focus on World Class CMM Inspection and Metrology standards, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring adherence to Safety and Human Resources guidelines while fostering a team environment with each individual engineering and inspection team member.

Key Duties:
In this role you would be considered a corporate expert in CMM programming and tooling.

Because of this, responsibility will include consultation with corporate colleagues world-wide and be willing to travel domestically & globally in support of other sites who are in need of CMM expertise.

Responsible for programming, setup, and handoff of operation of the Coordinate Measurement Machine including all aspects of part installation and orientation.
Participate in the development of CMM inspection methodology for customer prototypes to insure successful manufacturing introductions.
Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
Review functioning of the CMM tools and programming for errors, defects, or malfunctioning.
Responsible for cross training inspection personnel on proper operation of CMM equipment
Responsible to undertake routine maintenance, repairs, and programming of the machinery
Work closely and collaborate with other members of the QC and Inspection team
Keep the organization updated about latest technologies introduced in the market and changes in the industry standards and specifications.
Responsible for training, supervising, and delegating CMM programming projects to CMM programmer(s).
Take full ownership of management and prioritization for all CMM related projects

This includes:
o Work in close partnership with the Quality Supervisor & Quality Administrator in utilization of Discuss software for FAI's
o Training Inspectors in the proper use of the CMM equipment
o Taking ownership of all CMM equipment including specifying and sourcing new equipment, software, maintenance of all equipment.
o Establish and maintain department KPI's.

Excellent understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Proficient in the use of PC-DMIS
Familiarity with Model Based Dimensioning (MBD)
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100

Education/Background:

Five years minimum prior experience as an CMM programmer in a fastpaced machining environment
High degree of knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), metrology, complex inspection methods and CMM programing and operation (PC-DMIS)
Two years minimum prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred
BS in an Engineering discipline a plus but not required

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience
