    Project Coordinator I-School of Nursing (148 E. 126th Street)-Mount Sinai Beth Israel-Full Time, Days

    The Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is a System-wide entity charged to support the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) in embracing the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion as key drivers for excellence and innovation for unrivaled healthcare service delivery, medical and health education, and research. ODI staff serve as consultants and subject matter experts on best practices in diversity and inclusion whereby they advise on System-wide policies and procedures and provide education on inclusive behaviors to promote equity for all.

    The Project Coordinator, reporting to the Associate Director in ODIs Corporate Health System Affairs Division, is primarily responsible for organizing and coordinating projects and activities which support System-wide People with Disabilities Programs strategic initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Additionally, s/he will support educational offerings and aid in the development of new educational content/materials, and assist in building internal and external partnerships to enhance the patient experience and workplace inclusion at MSHS.

    Responsibilities
    • Manages projects and activities to ensure quality, timeliness and integrity of initiatives; prepares minutes, project summaries, and PowerPoint presentations for reporting.
    • Prepares flyers and communication materials for events and activities, and actively promotes through multiple media (digital, print, etc.).
    • Provides support for the Ability ERG and Caregiver ERG, which include organizing programs and events with sponsors and leads; tracking the impact of ERG projects, and regularly consulting and updating Senior Project Coordinator and Assistant Director to ensure adherence to department policies and procedures.
    • Serves as a liaison between ODI and Mount Sinai Calm in supporting the Ability ERG and Caregiver ERG.
    • Researches new opportunities for people with disabilities in ODIs youth education and talent pipeline programs, makes recommendations to present to Assistant
    • Director and Program Manager, and assists in facilitating those relationships moving forward.
    • Facilitates educational sessions and tracks participation for internal and external reporting purposes.
    • Monitors progress of work and provides regular updates on project status to Associate Director.
    • Maintains an ongoing interface with existing and new internal and external partners to advance program goals.
    • Conducts ongoing research and makes recommendations on grants to support System-wide diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives specifically for people with disabilities around health disparities and community outreach and development.
    • Assists with other tasks under the auspices of ODI, as assigned/requested.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors required; Masters degree in public health, healthcare administration, business, higher education or related fields preferred.
    • None required, but 1-2 years administrative experience preferred
