Schmitt Engineering is a medium-sized company based in Erlangen. With many years of engineering expertise in various industries, we are a partner to the industry.

Our activities cover the entire process chain from planning and project management to development and construction, as well as production, assembly, and commissioning.


Your tasks will include:

  • Identifying and tracking quality requirements from customer contracts and R&D orders
  • Planning quality management activities, reviewing the adequacy and effectiveness of quality measures, tracking their implementation, and providing support
  • Planning and implementing product safety standards (e.g. EU/CE certifications)
  • Planning, coordinating, conducting, and commissioning audits, as well as preparing, coordinating, and conducting inspections and acceptances
  • Supporting the development and qualification of suppliers and materials
  • Promoting problemsolving processes for nonconformance events with the goal of continuously improving solutions and processes

Your profile:

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification with professional experience in industrial plant business
  • Knowledge of quality management standards and methodologies (FMEA, 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, Lessons Learned)
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations in plant construction, particularly in the field of maritime systems and plants, is advantageous
  • Experience as a test field engineer and/or commissioning engineer is a plus
  • Willingness to travel for business
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
