    Job Description
    A large financial service company is looking for an a Big Data Engineer II to join their team. This Senior Software Engineer will help build and enhance their Big data application.

    This individual's day-to-day work will involve using Java, Scala, SQL, Big Data, Linux, git, and maven/gradle to design and build software solutions that are fast, scalable, and flexible.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and monitoring applications running on big data nodes and be able to implement scalable, high performing, secure, highly available solutions.

    Someone who has Knowledge of professional software engineering practices/best practices for the full software development life cycle, including:
    coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations will thrive in this role.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 8+ years of recent hands-on experience working on an Agile development team, building big data capabilities using Apache Spark, Scala, Hive & Java
    • Demonstrated experience in application design, software development, and testing.
    • Working HDFS framework experience with Spark/Scala Map Reduce and Hive.
    • Experience working with Java/J2ee, MySQL, REST, Microservices, design pattens and Spring boot framework.
    • Experience in developing the Rest API and Micro services.
    • In depth knowledge of HTTP, HTTP Proxies, web servers and API Gateways like Apigee.
    • Good understanding of CI/CD processes leveraging Jenkins, SBT, XLR and Maven.
    • Understanding of NoSQL, Messaging, and caching products such as Kafka.
    • Strong Hands-on experience with Apache Spark Data frame and Datasets, Map Reduce, Hive Query Language
    • Good understanding building applications with secure integration with API Gateways using REST endpoints
    • Experience with automated build and test frameworks Experience working with H Base null
