    Reimagine What's Possible This is a Hybrid Position based at our Project Delivery Office in Amherst, NY.Hiring Bonus $10K+ Based on Experience.

    Industrial Gases experience is strongly preferred.
    Principal Chemical Process Engineer - Role and Responsibilities:Required Skills / Abilities:Generate/refine Heat & Material Balances (HMBs) using ASPEN+ process simulatorDevelop/refine plant Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)Perform detailed equipment design calculations and specifications for front-end adsorption purification systems, cryogenic heat exchangers, and distillation columns for engineer-to-order opportunitiesPerform/refine calculations and write duty specifications for machinery, vessels, control valves, relief devices, and other instrumentsSupport P&ID development, operability reviews and hazard reviewsSupport model reviews, complete coldbox inspectionsInterface with third party SMR equipment supplierSupport plant start-up and lead plant performance testingSupport Operations and ESPS with evaluations, calculations, studies as requestedDomestic and international travel to customer locations and to plant sites is expected about 15 percent of the time

    Education and Licensing Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or Ph.
    D. in Chemical Engineering is required.5 to 15 years of experience in Process, Operations, Process Systems, or Controls is preferred.

    Be self-motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skillsSupport a variety of projects within budgeted hours and to scheduleHave a strong understanding of thermodynamics and be able to adapt knowledge to new applicationsDevelop a working relationship with The Product Line Teams as well as other groups within the Central Engineering Teams (Controls, Systems, Machinery, etc.)Have good commercial and fiscal awareness and actively seek lowest cost alternativesMotivate and supervise less experienced engineers#INDBUF#LI-Hybrid#LI-CH1Air Products proudly values the skills, dedication, and leadership that veterans bring to the table.

    In New York, the expected pay range is $97,350 - $146,050 plus bonus.

    This is the range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position as individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
