OverviewSenior Controls Product Engineer
The Senior Control Product Engineer will lead innovative control design and development projects. They will work with a cross functional team to translate customer product requirements into electrical and mechanical design specifications.
They will manage product design and development milestones to launch new control products to the market on schedule while meeting cost, quality and qualification (validation and regulatory) requirements.

Must be located in greater Los Angeles area
Bachelor's degree must be from a credited US based University in Mechanical Engineering
8+ years in Controls with experience in HVAC or the Automotive Industry
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Working Team Leadership of Control Product Engineering Design and Development projects
Create and sustain control product electrical and mechanical requirements, utilizing knowledge of engineering principles, marketing requirements and directly listening to customer needs
Develop and manage project schedules for new control product development projects
Overall project responsibility includes electrical and mechanical product validation and regulatory testing requirements
Ensure all required product packaging, labeling and safety testing are done correctly, passing industry recognized safety
Document product designs by preparing bills of materials, cost analyses, drawings, and engineering change notices (ECN).
Develop engineering solutions to product related issues through problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
Participate on cross-functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product
Closely work with suppliers during product development to consider design for manufacturability in order to meet quality, cost and schedule goals.
Leadership of our Controls Test Laboratory test electrical and mechanical safety practicesPerform other tasks as assigned
Nature & Scope:
Ensures work is aligned with the Director's expectations, goals, and vision
Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term result
Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Manager/Director
Works on difficult to moderately complex issues and projects
Provides guidance and training to subordinates
Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance and recommend for termination
Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of mechanical and electrical design theory and practice
Experience with engineering change processes, drawings and specifications management
Knowledge of specifications and standards used in the Controls
Software skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and complete projects on time
Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence & sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include listening
Effective project management and change management skills
Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job
Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees
Compensation: 111, ,000 +
Additional Compensation:
$40 a day for lunch allowance, accumulates to $10,400 a year
