Job Description:

This joint project with partners from Charité Berlin and Cellbricks GmbH aims to create a 3D-printed patient-specific avatar for drug testing.

The methods will be developed using existing cancer organoids from human patients. We focus on the interaction between gastric cancer cells and immune cells. The microenvironment of the tumor will be described and co-cultures of immune cells and cancer organoids will be established. Drug testing in printed complex models will be compared to standard organoid models.

Expected Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a PhD (in Biology or related field) and have a strong background in at least two of the following areas: immunology, cancer, stem cells, bioprinting, tissue engineering
Strong motivation for the project is required
Knowledge in IHC, microscopy, image analysis, and experience in collaboration are advantageous
Knowledge in organoid culture is not required
Good German and/or English skills are necessary; willingness to learn the missing language skills
