My Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the functional safety of new features in the field of digitalization, electrification, and automated driving
  • This ensures that these innovative and often complex functions can be safely implemented in series production
  • You will work on tasks related to system functions in the vehicle infrastructure, with complex central control units, or in the area of remote software updates for constantly updated customer functions in the vehicle or energy network for electrified and automated driving
  • Furthermore, you will develop these functions in a team together with the function owners
  • As part of your role, you will design safety architectures, conduct safety analyses (e.g. impact analyses), create functional and technical safety concepts, test strategies, and other work products related to functional safety
  • Your tasks are based on the ISO 26262 standard and the BMW functional safety process

My Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, technical computer science, safety engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent qualification
  • First practical experience in the field of electronics or software development (vehicle electrical system and/or control units) desirable
  • Knowledge of the entire vehicle and its interrelationships desirable
  • Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and creativity for technical solutions required
  • Good German and fluent English skills are necessary
