At Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt, the permanent position of

Librarian (m/f/d)

is to be filled as soon as possible on a part-time basis (75%).

Remuneration is based on job responsibilities and fulfillment of personal requirements in pay group 11 TV-L.

Job responsibilities:

Ordering and accessioning of media and budget monitoring
Cataloging of materials with advanced and higher levels of difficulty and maintenance of catalogs
Assisting in user services
Conducting user trainings
Providing specialized information services

Requirements:

Completed degree in Library Science or Information Management, or equivalent proven skills, knowledge, and experience
Excellent knowledge of cataloging rules RDA
Proficiency in library database software (e.g. PICA)
Good knowledge of Arabic and the current transliteration rules of DMG desired
High degree of flexibility, reliability, and independence
Teamwork and willingness to perform
Good oral and written communication and expression skills
Ability to work independently and accurately
