- Auto body repair: 2 years (Required)
- Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician or similar role (2+ years)
- Experience with full-frame repairs (2+ years)
- Experience with Car-O-Liner & Chief (2+ years)
- Auto Body Estimating experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Completion of vocational program preferred, but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures, and specifications
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate and take direction from superiors
- Decent vision abilities including close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Able to work in fast-paced environment
- Manual dexterity for repetitive-motion tasks
- Toughness and grit to work outside in all kinds of weather
- Physical stamina to kneel, bend and squat, as well as lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment background search, Motor Vehicle Records check, and drug test
- Participate in developing a proper repair plan for each vehicle
- Determine and repair damaged parts
- Communicate status of repairs clearly to Body Shop Manager
- Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
- Work on estimates by Insurance partner and company guidelines
- Maintain and execute a timely schedule before, during, and after the completion of repairs
- Document all repairs performed
- Document all materials used
- Repair and replace damaged body parts, including panels, fenders, and bumpers
- Use hand tools and welding equipment to complete repairs
- Ensure customers' cars are kept clean and tidy to improve customer happiness
- Consult with management regarding new procedures and equipment in the industry
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste

Job DescriptionAuto Body Shop Technician
This position is for you if you:
Job Requirements:
· Experience in using hand tools and welding equipment (2+ years)
· Ability to read and understand a work order
· Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance
· Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Knowledge of all makes and models of cars
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and regularly position or move self to fix and repair over and under vehicles
· Ability to work full-time, 50 hours a week, 2 half-days a month
Job Responsibilities:
· Create a complete repair plan, vehicle disassembly and reassembly, plastic bumper repair, and minor panel dent repair
· Repair more complex dents by working and reshaping sheet metal, application of body filler, and advancing to two-sided plastic repair, larger panel damage
· Learn how to access repair procedures
· Properly set-up and anchor structural repairs, as well as three-dimensional measuring of the vehicle structure
· Learn the various methods of welding/joining materials and tools
· Fine tune body filler and metal repairs, with the addition of stud-gun and other metal straightening tools and techniques, cutting and replacing small structural components
· Proper set-up and techniques for MIG welding on steel vehicles, to complete the I-CAR Weld Certification
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment
· Complete repair orders and maintain accurate records of work performed
· Variety of work on many types of cars, both new and old models

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. This position is primarily paid on highly incentivized commission structure.
