- The candidate will oversee the engineering processes involved in designing steel joist products and providing technical support for steel deck projects.
- They will manage a design team to ensure timely completion of design submittals and fabrication documents that adhere to industry specifications and company requirements.
- Be responsible for all strategy, project planning, strategy planning and compliance with the work.
- Coordinate engineering department activities and needs with purchasing, project management, drafting, and production. Resolve shop and field quality issues and provide as-built analysis for load changes.
- Meet departmental objectives as set with the value stream objectives.
- Provide technical assistance to current and prospective customers, as well as estimation and sales personnel.
- Provide engineering expertise to outside sales office and potential clients in the usage of joists and deck and related products.
- Responsible for design costs relative to estimated costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with structural emphasis
- P.E or Professional licensure and ability to obtain licenses in multiple states
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Software Suite & BlueBeam
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and technical procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required
