Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Ability to analyze and summarize financial information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet software and data base software.
  • Ability to handle time sensitive matters.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Higher education coursework in accounting.
  • One year accounting in a business office.
  • Experience with university or government fiscal office.
  • Proficient in Access and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of FAMIS or other online accounting system and Laserfiche.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Processing/Identification:


  • Reviews, research, and identifies incoming ACH credits, letter of credit receipts, incoming wire transfers and checks from thirteen A&M System member bank accounts via the Wells Fargo CEO portal for SRS projects. Inputs deposit information into an access database for each system member. Identifies and prepares deposits of checks via the Wells Fargo Desktop deposit. Unloads deposit packets into Laserfiche repositories. Communicates and coordinates with Sponsored Research Services staff and A&M System members on deposits involving multiple bank accounts.

Data Entry:


  • Responsible for posting all SRS funds received including incoming ACH credits, letter of credit receipts, incoming wire transfers and check deposits for A&M System members to FAMIS. Assists other cash management staff in resolving deposit problems and the A&M System member bank reconciliation.

Auditing:


  • Verifies changes and retrieves financial information from Wells Fargo Bank. Verifies the posting of deposits in FAMIS against bank transactions and deposit posting sheets. Works with System members to resolve any bank reconciliation issues regarding deposits posted by SRS staff. Applies and enforces applicable Texas A&M University System regulations and federal and state laws/regulations. Reviews and audits the work of other staff in Cash Management. Develops methods of improving efficiencies in the cash management section.

Customer Service:


  • Works with customers as needed to research and resolve problems and discrepancies involving incoming funds posted to the System member bank accounts. Acts as a resource to Sponsored Research Services and System members regarding deposit matters.
