    What we want


    The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for an Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology team.

    The Postdoctoral Research Associate performs investigations related to infectious disease projects.

    This role focuses on several ongoing projects in host-pathogen interactions related to viruses, phage, tuberculosis, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Appropriate PhD

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Technical laboratory skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PhD, D.V.M. and/or M.D
    • Record of productive experience in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology of pathogens preferred

    Responsibilities:
    Research


    • Conducts independent research on mycobacterial, viral and other respiratory pathogens, and publication of results
    • Designs, develops, and conducts research experiments
    • Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures
    Research Data


    • Collects, compiles, organizes and analyzes data
    • Documents, summarizes, and interprets results
    • Maintains experimental records and documentation
    Writing


    • Participates and assists with the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and publications of scientific data in peer-revised journals based on research
    Collaboration


    • Attends laboratory meetings and departmental seminars
    • Interfaces with collaborators to advance projects
    • Participates in projects involving lab personnel
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
