Compensation Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. This position is exempt and will work and be compensated according to a 12 month administrative schedule. - Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment. The policy is effective upon the first of the month following the first day of work.
- Certificated staff have access to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System pension plan(TCRS). Eligible employees contribute 5% and KIPP matches up to 6.81%. Employees may also be eligible for 401k in which KIPP will contribute 5%.
- The vacation package for salaried employees includes 29 paid days throughout the 10 month work schedule(including holidays, fall break, thanksgiving break, winter break) as well as summer break.
In addition employees in this role are allotted 6 PTO days as well as 10 additional days to take during the summer break.
Employees are allotted an additional 2 days after every 2 consecutive years of employment. Eligible staff members receive payment for unused PTO days at the end of the fiscal year. - Adoption/Parental Caregiver Leave- up to 10 weeks parental leave for the primary caregiver and 2 weeks parental leave for the secondary caregiver paid at 100%.
- Leaders are provided with laptop computers with access to the internet and or email to assist them in performing their job responsibilities.

Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Assistant Principal of Culture assumes primary responsibility for the culture of the school, facilitating the development of student character and ensuring a positive and structured environment that creates the conditions for accelerated learning.
This position requires an organized and consistent educator with a concrete vision of excellence, adult leadership experience, the ability to build outstanding relationships with stakeholders, and a talent for inspiring children to high expectations.
This position is an opportunity to play a significant role in founding an institution focused on academic achievement, character, and college-readiness.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Principal of Culture will include, but are not limited to:School CultureWork closely with Principal to establish a positive, structured, and achievement-oriented school cultureFacilitate teacher training and support around discipline, relationships, expectations, consistency, and managementCoordinate and implement a school-wide discipline system with meaningful incentives and consequencesServe as the point person for discipline/culture issues as well as specific behavioral intervention plansAssist teachers, students, and parents in the creation and implementation of support plans for individual studentsMonitor behavioral pull-out, in-school suspensions, out of-school suspensions, and suspension parent re-entry meetingsMaintain accurate student discipline records; document all conferences, suspensions, and phone calls for behaviorPlan, lead and oversee an effective Tier I, Tier II and Tier III behavioral culture and RTI-B processStakeholder Engagement and ManagementLead recognition assemblies, parent workshops, community events, and other culture-building activitiesSupport teachers in building relationships with students and parents; implement parental involvement planCommunicate clearly and promptly with teachers, families, and students when discipline issues occurEnsure that the physical environment of the school reinforces school culture and facilitates student achievementConduct regular school culture walkthroughs, classroom observations and audits to help staff maintain a high bar of excellenceLead weekly behavior analysis meetings with each grade levelProvide ongoing coaching and development to teachersPlan and lead ongoing student culture professional development throughout the yearManage and coach Behavior Support Specialist(s) and School Counselor(s)
