The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, is currently seeking a
Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d), reference number 2024_08, initially on a fixed-term basis,
full-time (part-time possible).


The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is an internationally renowned research institute in the field of biomedicine.

With around 380 employees, the institute comprises three departments, several independent research groups, and central scientific service groups.


Responsibilities:

  • Production of precision mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic components according to design templates or other technical specifications
  • Assembly of components
  • Creation of NC code and production of complex workpieces on CNC machines
  • Maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment (e.g. vacuum pumps, autoclaves, incubators)
  • Advising scientists on application problems and seeking optimal customerspecific solutions, taking into account functional, manufacturing, and economic aspects

Your profile:

  • Completed training in precision mechanics or a comparable field
  • Independent, selfdirected, and solutionoriented work style
  • Several years of professional experience in scientific equipment construction
  • Solid knowledge of computeraided CNC and CAM techniques
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage
