The Job:


  • San Bernardino County
    seeks experienced and dynamic finance professionals to perform highly complex and specialized analysis for the purpose of developing countywide financial strategies.
Positions in this classification are assigned to one of the following areas of expertise:

debt finance analysis; centralized budget coordination; fee and capital improvement program oversight; centralized management of federal, state and countywide resources.


Two vacancies currently exist, one in each of the following areas:

OUTSTANDING SALARY AND BENEFITS

Competitive salary range of $116,396 - $166,732 Annually
Depending on Qualifications**
_ 3% Annual Across the Board Salary Increases on February 2025 & 2026_

_Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 16_

_$750 Annual Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Stipend_

The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option
that provides a wage differential of
4% above the base salary rate with modified benefits.**

THE COUNTY AND COUNTY FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

  • San Bernardino County is a dynamic charter county governed by a full time, fivemember Board of Supervisors. The County Administrative Office (CAO) provides direction to County departments and ensuring their vigorous pursuit of Board goals and objectives and implementation of Boardapproved programs in an effective and efficient manner.
  • The CAO's
    Finance and Administration Division is responsible for the preparation and administration of the County budget, including the development of the fiveyear forecast and annual strategic plan; the administration and monitoring of the County general fund longterm debt portfolio, which includes both issuance and postissuance activities; oversight and administration of the County's capital improvement program, and providing administrative support to the County's Law and Justice Group and Indigent Defense Program.

Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.

  • Finance Analyst II ($90,064 $128,273 annually)
  • Finance Analyst III ($105,996 $151,424 annually)

Minimum Requirements:


EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor's degree in Public/Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Behavioral/Social Science, or other relevant field

EXPERIENCE:


  • Three (3) years of professionallevel analytical experience in budget, fee program management (including analysis of cost to deliver services and fee revenue projections), capital projects (including the planning, funding, and implementation of major capital projects), debt financing, organizationwide revenuerelated experience, or data science/analytics (including research, collection, organization, interpretation, evaluation, and presentation of data for business decision)

The three (3) years of required experience may be in one or any combination of the skill areas described above.

To be considered, experience must be obtained in a _

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience obtained in public agencies and/or knowledge and understanding of the County's budgeting and finance processes is highly desired._
