    Description

    United States Citizenship (dual citizenship not authorized) and the ability to obtain an Active DoD eligibility with favorable determination is required per government contract.


    Main Sail has an opening for a Database Administrator for sustainment and modernization support of the Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution (NMMES).


    NMMES is an information technology toolset used by NAVSEA in ship maintenance and repair at shipyards located in Norfolk, Virginia; Portsmouth, Maine; Puget Sound, Washington; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

    NMMES collects and processes scheduling repair availability at individual yards to securing spare parts, financial management, workforce planning and dozens of other activities.

    It encompasses every phase of ship maintenance, from initial planning to the final close-out of an individual maintenance contract.


    Responsibilities:


    • Performs one or more of the following tasks in support of computer database administration: architects, designs, oversee the development of, or administers computerized databases, installs the applicable databases onto the appropriate computer operating systems, creates databases, configure databases (for a data warehousing application), use import utilities to install databases.
    • Includes creation of Indexes, Clusters, Snapshots, Views, and other database objects, as well as, management of Rollback Segments, Data File Size, and all the other aspects related to the performance tuning of databases.
    • Write code for update queries, update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database, and maintain a data correction log.
    • Create and maintain data correction logs that identify the date the correction that was performed, tables and fields effected, submission effected, error code effected, and other pertinent metadata.
    • Expand and update the data dictionary for the database and any related applications.

    Qualifications:


    • Up to 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    Location:


    • On site Norfolk VA, with up to 80% remote telework

    Period of Performance:
    Multiple years with estimated start 9/3/2024.
