    SUMMARY
    A worldwide provider of biological and in vitro products to pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.

    We specialize in control and disease state matrices manufactured from human and animal blood, plasma, and serum, which are used in drug discovery, compound development, clinical and research diagnostics.

    Our products enable scientists and biomedical researchers to better understand the pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism of newly discovered compounds and the effect on disease processes


    The Logistics and Facilities Manager for BioIVT Disease State Operations will manage the operations of the Detroit Logistics team and Facility operations.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Logistics
    Provides a high level of oversight and guidance to all logistics channels. Interface directly with distributors.
    Ensure that all departments understand customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
    This role will be responsible for logistics management functions throughout an ISO-certified CAP certified organization.
    Will oversee inventory management, distribution & warehousing, and logistics.
    Provides a high level of oversight and guidance to all logistics channels. Interface directly with distributors.
    Create operational efficiencies, discover best practices, and identify programs that lead to increased customer satisfaction.
    Negotiate with & audit shipping contracts (domestic and international).
    Oversee coordination of optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
    Facilitate operational compliance with relevant health and safety requirements.
    Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, service logs, or training or safety records.
    Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
    Identify areas for process improvements within logistics and facilities management and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

    Facilities, Inventory, and Equipment management
    Maintain facilities and equipment according to ISO and CAP requirements.
    Biorepository Inventory Management
    Facilitate monthly physical inventory counts and reporting.
    Liaise with building management personnel.
    Facilitate operational compliance with relevant health and safety requirements.
    Cross functional communication with Order Management and Customer Service.
    Ensure all lab and analytic equipment is appropriately serviced and functional through policy and procedure development and enforcement.
    Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
    Oversee Biorepository Freezer Core Preventive and Scheduled Maintenance Schedule.

    Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and energy efficiency to implement in the facility's operations for cost savings and environmental stewardship.

    Documentation management and review.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Supervises one or more employees (including one or more supervisors), as needed. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include:
    Interviewing, hiring, developing and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; and resolving concerns.

    Review/approve weekly timesheets and requests for time off for all direct reports.
