These renewables sites have requirements under the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards and AES Global Standards for architecture and design.
The Director of Operational Technologies plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation and continuous improvement of our technology infrastructure.
This Director will supervise the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions that support our operational goals.With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and security, the Director will lead a team of OT professionals to improve operational performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
:
Develop and implement a strategic plan for operational technologies that aligns with the organization's goals.
This includes assessing people, process and technologies required to support the company strategy, identifying needs, and forecasting future technology trends.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of OT professionals. This includes hiring, training, and evaluating team members to ensure they have the vital skills and resources.
Technology Management
:
Supervise the management of all operational technology systems, including network infrastructure, software applications, and hardware. Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Project Management
:
Lead and handle technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
This includes handling project teams, resources, schedules, and risks.Vendor Management
:
Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure value for money and compliance with service level agreements.
Security and Compliance
:
Ensure all operational technologies align with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices for data security and privacy. Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risks related to cybersecurity.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
:
Foster a culture of innovation within the technology team. Identify and implement improvements in processes, tools, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement
:
Work closely with other departments to understand their technology needs and challenges. Act as a trusted advisor, providing recommendations on how technology can support business objectives.
Budget Management
:
Develop and manage the budget for operational technologies, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale IT projects.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence partners at all levels.
In-depth knowledge of current and new technologies, and how they can be applied to drive operational excellence.
Experience with vendor management, including contract negotiation and performance management.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $170,000 and $221,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus,
in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
