We are partners of local churches in Africa, Asia, and Oceania and intermediaries for financial aid from German Catholics. We are a specialist agency for international church cooperation. In order to support around 1,200 projects of our partners in Africa, Asia, and Oceania each year, we need the help of donors in Germany.

We are looking for a Regional Officer for Asia at the Missionary Institute (m/f/d) starting on July 1, 2023: (Employment rate 50%) for our Foreign Department.

The place of work is Aachen.

Your tasks include:

  • Contentrelated processing and evaluation of project proposals for Asia and Oceania, project support, advisory work;
  • Contentrelated and organizational preparation of scholarship meetings, scholarship support, supervision of research projects;
  • Information on the theological and church situation and development in the countries of the Asian continent;
  • Participation in overarching projects;
  • Development and expansion of training and further education opportunities for church leaders and decisionmakers.

We expect:

  • PhD in Catholic theology or a comparable field;
  • Extensive experience in the academic field in nonEuropean countries, especially in Asia, is advantageous;
  • Very good English skills in spoken and written form, knowledge of French is advantageous;
  • Confident demeanor and intercultural competence, diplomatic skills;
  • Intercultural competence for the regions of Asia;
