Maverick Learning Center is a small business in Virginia Beach, VA. We are fun and our goal is to provide a safe and effective learning environment for students that are on the autism spectrum or have a developmental delay to protect self-esteem and confidence while focusing on a personalized educational experience. Our goal is for families to find community and a safe place for their mavericks..

We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team and provide specialized instruction to students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students with autism reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching elementary school math and reading, as well as experience working in a special education school or private school setting.

Responsibilities:

Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed.
Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure the best possible educational experience for students.
Provide guidance and support to students with autism.
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students.
Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Utilize appropriate instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
Integrate technology into the classroom environment.
