- Drive revenue through new business opportunities and develop a strong client base; responsible for growing and supporting corporate, groups, and wedding business.
- Actively develop leads and pursue new business both in the downtown area and the broader metro area.
- Example: Proactively reaching out to relevant brands exhibiting at the convention center for opportunities to host events and promotions during major convention weeks.
- Utilize hospitality expertise to maintain relationships and knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer base and with a strong focus on fostering business relationships.
- Continually engages with local caterers and meeting planners to ensure a robust pipeline for future events.
- Remains aware of the key revenue goals and targets of the department and focuses sales opportunities to achieving these goals.
- Communication services available to clients and promoters.
- Work with clients and staff to determine event requirements, staffing needs, rates, equipment needs and move-in/out days, etc.
- Coordinates, arranges and documents event requirements requested by promoters, agents and clients and communicates those to other employees and vendors to ensure smooth event operations; ensures setups are done in accordance with lease requirements, safety, fire and health codes and facility procedures.
- Oversees event management services for all events.
- Interacts with other facility staff to facilitate planning and scheduling of events and to ensure efficient management of daily activities to assure the delivery of service.
- Makes or arranges for last-minute adjustments in room or equipment set up at the request of the lessee or to assure compliance with safety measures and prepares an accurate statement of additional changes for settlement purposes.
- Coordinates and directs contract and event support staff including security staff, caterers, and decorators; provides functional supervision of event support staff including setup crews.
- Assumes responsibility for resolving problems during course of assigned events; receives and responds to complaints.
- Strives for excellence in maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of all events, expenses, revenues, and payments to external vendors and industry organizations.
- Prepares cost estimates and bids as needed for use by facility or promoter; maintains knowledge of deal structures and supports their fulfillment at the time of settlement.
- Performs event settlement at conclusion of the event. This position is generally responsible for all settlements that are not directly tied to events confirmed by the Cannery Hall Talent Buyer(s).
- Maintains records of individual events and collects statistical data on attendance and usage; maintains mailing lists and event files.
- Issues invoices, monitors receivables and is responsible for collections.
- Maintains consistent, quality service as well as fostering a relationship of goodwill and partnership with each client or group.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
- Oversees processing of event records and rental activity reports for performance licensing agencies (ASCAP, SESAC, and BMI), and various internal departments.
- Serves as a liaison between venue, clients, and outside vendors to maintain Cannery Hall's growing reputation of having the friendliest, most hospitable staff. Communicates and coordinates production requirements accordingly.
- Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures, especially pertaining to areas of financial and legal exposure for Cannery Hall.
- Creates and updates all event maps (floor plans).
- Acts as "Manager on Duty" as required.
- Performs specific tasks as assigned.

Job DescriptionThe Event Sales & Services Manager functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the Director of Event Sales & Services. This position is responsible for the promotion and selling of event spaces and other services to potential clients. Using strong communication and organizational skill, you will work closely with the client, event planners and organizers to develop, schedule, coordinate and communicate the needs of all events.
NOTE: This position does not offer relocation. All candidates must live in the Nashville market. We are looking for a sales professional with experience in and passion for the hospitality (e.g., hotel) and/or music entertainment industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The above-listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in related field with 3-5 years Hospitality related event sales experience or education/experience equivalent is required.
