    OVERVIEW:

    Marc JacobsInternational, powered bythe creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks aTemp Merchandising Planner to join the Merchandising Team based in itsNew York City (SoHo) headquarters

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare reports for senior management summarizing findings, and continuously monitor strategies and modify them as new product lines emerge and market conditions change.
    • Prepare weekly & monthly selling reports to track sales performance to use for future merchandise purchases.
    • Work with merchants to develop assortment plans for sales and inventory, ensuring the inventory reflect current trends based on actual sales performance.
    • Revise in-season forecasts for sales opportunity and develop and propose tactics in response to current business trends.
    • Implement promotional and liquidation strategy and manage assortment to approved inventory targets.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Influence merchandising plans for each season, including overseeing volume projections, collaborating on global pricing plans with finance and IT teams, and managing product life cycle.
    • Generate markdown suggestions for items and oversee inventory liquidation plans.
    • Conduct market trend research and analyze competitors' products.
    • Analyze selling and booking data, and present results to senior management.
    • Utilize product knowledge in leather goods and ready-to-wear to present collections to internal partners.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5 years' experience in merchandise planning or a product management role.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excel and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

    SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER:

    The compensation for this position ranges from $30- $34 (hourly). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon the candidates relevant skills and experience. MJ employees also receive discounts on MJ products throughout the year
