Natalie Asemi

With my professional experiences focused on both science and humanism, I hope to harness my experiences, leadership, and interpersonal skills to contribute to the advancement of the healthcare industry.

As a public health graduate student at Columbia University, I have recently embarked on a research project with New York-Presbyterian Hospital, focusing on surgical and anesthesia capacity building in Sierra Leone. My prior role as a Research Analyst at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in the Vaccine Business Unit, I honed my skills in leveraging advanced research methodologies to enhance the biotech pipeline to ensure quality patient treatments. This also complements my investigative work on critical healthcare issues during my former experiences at Brigham and Women's Hospital and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Committed to community service and advocacy, I have initiated STEM programs for underrepresented youth and actively support the advancement of women in science. My analytical prowess, coupled with multilingual communication skills, positions me to make meaningful contributions to global health and policy development.

I am currently an MPH student at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Prior to this, I received my Master's in Medical Science from Boston University School of Medicine and conducted my translational research thesis at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Department of Dermatology. I attended Sonoma State University for my undergraduate degree where I studied Biochemistry and minored in Sociology. At Sonoma, I was 1 of 3 students selected to graduate with Distinction from the Department of Chemistry.
