    Job DescriptionJob Description:Under the direction of the teams litigation attorney this role will require you to manage the docket of three District Courts or approximately 1,000 pending tax cases without any assistance.
    Describe this position's Essential Functions: (Tasks, duties & responsibilities of the job. Outline the core responsibilities of the position. Highlight the day-to-day activities of the position).
    1. Manage the prosecution of approximately 1,000 tax cases pending in three specific Harris County district courts assigned to the Legal/Admin Assistant by the litigation attorney.
    2. Monitor the service status of each defendant, and secure proper service on all defendants sufficient to obtain a valid and enforceable final judgment in the proceeding
    3. Prepare all pleadings necessary to obtain a valid and enforceable final judgment in the proceedings.
    4. Correspond, discuss with or meet with taxpayers and defendants as necessary to prosecute such cases and collect the delinquent taxes and fees which are the subject of the suit
    5. Obtain a trial setting under the procedures established by the court.
    6. Draft a final judgment for submission to the court.
    7. Maintain close communication with the clerks of the courts to facilitate the setting and resolution of cases.
    8. Attend virtual and in-person trial of hearings in each matter as requested by the litigation attorney.
    9. Perform other duties assigned by the litigation attorney.
    10. All other duties assigned.
    11. Describe the Physical Demands & Work Environment
    12. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
    13. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
    14. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds.
    15. Specific vision abilities, such as ability to adjust focus.
