Description
The Paralegal will be responsible for providing support in all functional areas of the Legal department and for providing assistance on a wide variety of issues including general corporate, intellectual property, transactions, litigation and administrative matters.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing support in all legal matters including, but not limited to, general corporate, intellectual property, litigation and transactional work.
- Provide legal and administrative support as needed by the Chairman of the Board, Presidents, all department Directors and Managers, Distributors, and Outside Counsel.
- Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating and tracking programs and projects associated with various legal matters handled in the Legal department.
- Develop and maintain templates for legal documents.
- Draft correspondence and legal documents for review and approval by Outside Counsel and/or executives.
- Provide contract review and document management as needed and approved by Outside Counsel.
- Maintaining documents for Corporate Entities including preparing, executing, and filing of necessary legal documents.
- Provide general administrative support including editing and formatting, proofreading, copying, scanning, and recordkeeping.
- Assist in special projects as assigned.
- Draft correspondence with state and federal government agencies as needed.
- Main point of contact with Customer Service Department regarding escalated complaints and issues with products/tools.
- Respond to escalated consumers complaints related to personal injury and/or property damage.
- Primary contact with company's insurance agent and complete insurance renewal documents annually.
- Order Certificates of Insurance as needed for customers, hair shows, or other events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Paralegal Certificate required.
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate setting.
- Knowledge and experience in intellectual property law, general corporate law, and transactions.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
