POSITION SUMMARY

The Dental Support Technician is responsible for assisting the dental care team in providing essential high-quality cleaning, sterilization and disinfection of care equipment. This full time position has the opportunity to allow the right candidates to be trained as a Dental Assistant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform high-quality cleaning procedures, while working in a safe and effective manner
To ensure that all areas of the dental practice are regularly cleaned
Disinfection of dental operatory
Transportation of dirty instruments
Practices proper waste management techniques, disposal of sharps, biohazard, general garbage,
Stocking rooms and storage areas
Unloading and unpacking supply deliveries/shipments
Assisting Dental Hygienist
Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Other duties as assigned

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

Must have high school diploma, or GED
Experience in custodial services is preferred, but not required.
