An engineering company specializing in advanced filtration is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a

direct hire position.

The company specializes in reducing wastewater disposal, reclaiming clean water for reuse, and produce valuable co-products.

They specialize in filtering difficult waste streams such as manure, digestate (anaerobic digestion - that can be used as fertilizer), leachate (contaminated liquid from water percolating through solid waste), and others.

Qualified candidates will possess most of the following qualities:

10+ years of experience with similar systems- Filtration, fluid fill, paint finishing, and process piping and sensors knowledge

Must have process understanding including reviewing P&ID diagrams to analyze failures, optimize systems, diagnose, and troubleshoot.

Skilled with material and pump equipment sizing, flow rate calculations, and pressure drops calculations.

BS Engineering required - Chemical Engineering preferred

Knowledge of design, install, and troubleshooting filtration systems.

Must have a good understanding of P&ID diagrams- markup/red line and reviewing with design and manufacturing team.

Experience with Ultra Filtration (UF), Super Filtration (SF), Reverse Osmosis (RO), Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO), Polishing RO (PRO), or Clean in Place (CIP) filtration systems.

Commissioning experience - planning, documenting, scheduling, testing, adjusting, verifying, and training.

Piping and Instrumentation Diagram understanding and process piping and sensor experience.

Knows how to design a filtration system, size them, do calculations, be an expert in the filtration process, understand permeate recoveries, fluxes, concentration factors, any chemical dosing needs for a process (determine how much and what materials).

Be able to troubleshoot the filtration systems utilizing remote access to all equipment and instructing the operator what to do in the field to reach the target in design.

Ability to lightly travel in the field (occasionally up to 20%).

The Sr. Process Engineer / Sr.

Technical Leader responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities – Final design authority of filtration systems. Review and approve designs by others. Final commissioning and startup authority. Responsible for technical training, vendor and subcomponent standardization.

Experiences required – At least 10 years actual process engineering experience in water or wastewater filtration. Must be fluent in P&IDs, system design, functional specifications and control narration, HAZOP/SIL.

Candidate Location:
Anywhere, but relocation to Detroit or 1 week per month in Detroit highly valued.
