Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Project and Portfolio Management, the Manager of Technical Business Analysis leads a team that specializes in capturing client requirements, analyzing data sources and business processes to produce solution recommendation and process analysis. This role leads the team that produces and validates technology-based projects requirements and develops recommendations for future system and business process enhancements. You and your team members serve as experts on University technologies and work with our clients to design solutions that serve the needs of our students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

40%Staff Leadership

You'll guide team members while creating team goals and supporting their professional journeys.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring agreement on University needs and industry best practices.
Collaborate with all levels of university stakeholders to define, document and solution the modern business processes with an eye for system based solutioning.
Develop team metrics for resourcing and performance reporting in order to forecast service demand.
Advocate for Business Analysis activities and develop resources and communications that promote Technical BA services.

35% Business Analysis

As a working manager, you'll collaborate directly with University peers to design technology solutions.

Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of business processes across all university areas.
Develop and deliver work products that document strategic, operational, and tactical requirements.
Work with partners to evaluate and prioritize project discovery requests.
Coordinate and facilitate meetings, trainings, and seminars to multiple audiences.
Display curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning to solve important business problems.
Ensure diverse representation in solutions human centered design to support all students, staff, and faculty.

20% Project Management

Support project discovery, requirements-gathering, and the solution architecture within the IT PMO.
Partner with the Project and Product Management team to provide a unified project delivery experience.
Manage projects on an as-needed basis to support operational success and strategic goals.
Manage internal team projects.

5% Other Tasks as Assigned

Occasional after-hours or on-call work and infrequent travel will be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience.
Three or more years of experience in a technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related domain, including computer science, management information systems, management, math/statistics or similar
Experience leading technology-focused business, data, or technical analysis professionals.
Experience facilitating large-scale analysis and solution design efforts.
Experience in higher education or similarly complex non-profit environments.
Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Workday or comparable ERP/SIS solutions.
Experience with data analytics tools like Prism, Power BI, or Tableau.
Professional Certification(s) such as Scrum Product Owner, Certified Business Analysis Professional, IIBA, ITIL or similar

Salary for Announcement

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $72,200 - $110,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

40 hours per week
Hybrid schedule (Combination of on-campus and remote) available for this position
