    Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor of Anesthesiology - General (multiple positions)

    School Overview:

    Job Summary:

    Utilize expert knowledge in clinical anesthesiology to serve patients, faculty, CRNAs, and residents.



    Mandatory Corporate Compliance Responsibilities:
    • Understanding and adherence to legacy UMDNJ's compliance standards as detailed in its Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.

    Stay informed of relevant federal, state, and legacy UMDNJ regulations, laws, and policies, remaining up to date with changes and modifications.


    Status: Full Time



    Qualifications:

    Minimum Education and Experience: Candidates must hold Board Certification or be Board Eligible and must possess a NJ medical license, CDS, and DEA.


    • Valid New Jersey Medical License required.
    • CDS/DEA certifications are mandatory.
    • Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
    • Fellowship training as needed.

    Employment offer is subject to successful completion of pre-employment screenings and meeting minimum qualification criteria.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Assessment, consultation, and preparation of patients for anesthesia.
    • Pain management during and post-surgical, obstetric, and therapeutic procedures.
    • Monitoring and maintaining normal physiology perioperatively.
    • Managing critically ill patients.
    • Diagnosing and treating acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain.
    • Supervising, teaching, and evaluating personnel involved in perioperative care.
    • Administering respiratory therapy.
    • Conducting clinical, translational, and basic science research.
    • Engaging in administrative responsibilities within healthcare facilities and organizations, as well as medical schools.
    • Possessing the necessary knowledge, judgment, clinical skills, and personal characteristics to fulfill the scope of anesthesiology practice.

    Physical Demands: Involves standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing. No specific vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert up to 25 lbs.
