- Perform assessments and make recommendations related to prognosis, pain and symptom management, goals of care, psychosocial and mental health issues for Veterans receiving services for terminal illness.
- Clinically support the mental health identified needs of patients receiving care in the inpatient Palliative Care clinic.
- Respond timely to psychology inpatient consults for the Community Living Center (CLC), completing assessments and evaluations and documentation which include Palliative, Hospice, Long term Care, and any other programs under the purview of the CLC.
- Coordinate ongoing outpatient mental health services, as needed, post discharge from inpatient care.
- Ability to use CPRS effectively and meet facility and national performance requirements for timely documentation and encounter closure.
- Ability to complete mental health Compensation & Pension examinations.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Psychologist:
This Psychologist is assigned to the Mental Health Service at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Psychologists in Mental Health assess, plan, implement, collaborate and evaluate the needs and care of patients with acute and chronic mental health diseases. This Psychologist responds to Psychology CLC inpatient consults as required to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs of inpatients in the Community Living Center. This Psychologist is also a member of the Palliative Care Consult Team (PCCT). This position is required to respond to Palliative Consults as required to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs of seriously ill Veterans and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings and support the maintenance of an effective PCCT. Duties include but are not limited to:

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
