Description The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and FamilyServices. OIG has six Divisions, Division of Regulated Child Care, Division of Health Care, Division ofCertificate of Need, Division of KY Health Information Exchange, Division of Telehealth and Division of Auditsand Investigations.

The Division of Audits and Investigations is responsible for investigating and auditingfor possible fraud, waste or abuse of the programs administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.We conduct various types of audits and special investigations, which requires critical thinking, evaluationand research into various Cabinet policies, procedures, and operations.

The job provides the opportunity togain experience on various project assignments, including some that may be high profile.

Responsibilities and duties:

Supervises, assigns and reviews the work of audits staff for effective and timely completion of assignmentsin the Audits Branch.

Provides technical assistance and case direction to make certain all processes are being followed.

Assists Audit Manager with branch tasks, reports, and training.

Assists Audit Manager in ensuring the audit plan for the branch is completed according to mandate byassigning and reviewing completed assignments for compliance with appropriate audit standards.

Provides technical assistance and direction to Audits Branch staff and monitors progress to make certainall processes are being followed.

Conducts training courses in conjunction with the Audit Manager, provides on-the-job training and supportsauditors.

Monitors and documents work performance, approves time reports, leave requests and travel vouchers ofAudits Branch staff.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of the auditing process.

Analytical skills

Time management skills

Initiative and self-motivation

Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe

Ability to travel occasionally as needed

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional auditing/internal auditing experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor or as a Certified Public Accountant will substitute for the required education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE Working Conditions Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting.
