For more information on our benefits go to /benefitsBasic Job Functions:Assists in the monthly closing process including journal entries, account reviews and report generationPrepares and maintains documentation of accounting procedures and internal controlsContributes to continuous improvement process, including working closely with the IT department to identify and implement reporting and process improvementsPrepares work papers for internal and external auditorsAssists in ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley complianceAssists with the implementation and testing of new ERP systemsPerforms special projects as assignedSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, or related discipline, required5 + years of accounting experienceWorking knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresExtensive knowledge of Microsoft ExcelWillingness to learn new software toolsStrong verbal and written communication skillsWillingness to provide high quality of service to internal and external customersAbility to demonstrate initiative on projects and assignmentsAbility to interface effectively with all levels of company personnelAbility to effectively manage financial systems projectsOccasional travel
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or MBA preferredExperience with use of Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP financial software system a plusExperience using database driven ad-hoc querying tools a plus
