    **WHO WE ARE**

    Bessies Diner features an aviation-themed dining experience located at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville, Wisconsin. Open for breakfast and lunch, patrons will feel as though they have traveled back in time to a classic 1950s dinerfrom the vinyl-covered stools to the chrome-plated tables. Children and adults alike will want to feast on the gigantic cinnamon rolls while watching the airplanes through vast floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the runway.

    **WHO YOU ARE**

    You will serve customers and extend great customer service by providing information to help with seating and carry-out orders. A host must possess a positive personality as you are the first impression that a guest receives about the restaurant.

    **WHAT YOU WILL DO**

    Introduce yourself and greet customers with a smile and a welcoming attitude; maintain eye contact with the customer when speaking to them and acknowledge their requests.

    Understand the seating arrangements and timing of every table to be sat.

    Communicate with servers to ensure service is provided in a timely manner.

    Check back with the tables to help ensure great service

    Understand server patterns and what they are capable of in order to provide quality customer service

    Prepare dining room by setting tables with clean, full condiments and tabletop menus

    Use downtime to check with guests, fill waters and overall restaurant needs. Always look for ways to be productive when there is time to spare

    Ensure carry-out orders are properly rung in and packaged before guest leaves. Give them back correct change.

    Arrive promptly and in full uniform for all scheduled shifts, including mandatory meetings

    Never let the guest feel like they are inconveniencing you

    Follow and abide by all policies written in the employee handbook

    Always remember that you are the first impression, acknowledging all guests with a smile

    Leave a positive impression on the customers to ensure a return venture and potential word of mouth promotion

    Thank the customers for visiting the establishment and ask them to come back again.

    Requirements

    **WHAT WE NEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)**

    **Experience and/or Training -** Basic math skills required (must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer), legible handwriting, and strong customer service and verbal communication skills. Must be 16 years or older.

    **PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 50 pounds.

    **WORK ENVIRONMENT**

    This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
