**WHO WE ARE**

Bessies Diner features an aviation-themed dining experience located at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville, Wisconsin. Open for breakfast and lunch, patrons will feel as though they have traveled back in time to a classic 1950s dinerfrom the vinyl-covered stools to the chrome-plated tables. Children and adults alike will want to feast on the gigantic cinnamon rolls while watching the airplanes through vast floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the runway.

**WHO YOU ARE**

Serve customers and extend great customer service by setting tables; adhering to sanitation and safety policies; clearing and cleaning tables, chairs, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the dining establishment.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

Clear all used tableware, napkins and refuse from tables to bus station

Wipe tables, chairs and clears debris and crumbs from floor areas surrounding table.

Dress tables, make sure dining space is cleaned

Assist wait staff by refilling customers beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items or clean/fresh tableware.

Maintain a clean, well-stocked and orderly bus station at all times in order to improve efficiency and productivity.

Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware and utensils from the dish room and distributes to each service station in order to keep a ready supply available for restaurant use.

Reset in accordance to restaurant standards in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible

Must be able to identify and explain all dishes on current menus

Perform other duties including running dishes, sweeping, emptying trash, filling waters

Know your schedule

Requirements

**WHAT WE NEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)**

**Experience and/or Training** - Basic math skills required, legible handwriting, teamwork, strong customer service and oral communication skills.

**PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift, balance serving tray on one hand while distributing orders to customers with the other, carry and set up folding table to support particularly heavy orders, stand and walk continually throughout a four to eight hour shift, bend, stoop and reach while carrying serving trays weighing up to 50 pounds, take customer orders, review customer bills and smoothly navigate dining room, kitchen and other facility areas, attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Protective Clothing Required: Non-Slip shoes

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

This position operates in a restaurant and/or catering setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. This position is indoors and seasonally outdoors.
