Join our team as

Department Head (m/f/d) for the "Multiphase Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer" department in the field of process engineering
Full-time (39.2 hours/week), initially limited to 24 months with the possibility of permanent employment. Starting date as soon as possible.

Leibniz-IWT stands for research in the field of new materials, processes and optimized components. We work interdisciplinary, internationally and with a practical approach.

Our scientific questions range from material creation, such as powder production for additive manufacturing, to the analysis of processed components, such as highly precise gears.

What we need your expertise for:

Personnel, scientific and economic management of the Multiphase Flow department with a focus on numerical modeling and simulation of multiphase flows with heat and mass transfer and chemical reactions
Research on the fundamentals and applications of multiphase flows in atomization, particle technology and thermal process engineering
Acquisition and scientific management of research projects
Expert activities and participation in professional committees (national and international)
Support in teaching and supervision of doctoral students at the University of Bremen

What sets you apart:

Successful PhD in process engineering, mechanical engineering, fluid mechanics or related fields
Willingness and ability to take on responsibility as personnel, scientific and economic head of the department
First professional experience in a research and development area, e.g
