- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar is required
- 1-3 years of experience, preferably in criminal defense or prosecution. Current ADA's and Assistant Public Defenders are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Some experience in District and/or Superior court criminal matters is preferred, but would be willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience in conducting research and analysis of legal documents
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Reliable transportation is required as this position involves defending cases in multiple counties. All mileage is reimbursed at the federal mileage rate.

This position is for a full time, on site Associate Attorney in the firm's Wilmington office.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney located in Wilmington, NC. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for independently handling a caseload of misdemeanor and low-level felony cases in Southeastern North Carolina, as well as supporting the practice of the Managing Partner in high-level state and federal felony cases. This position provides a tremendous opportunity for professional growth as the Associate will quickly gain experience in federal district court in EDNC in a support role, as well as in state Superior Court on matters including homicides, drug trafficking cases, white collar cases, and sex crimes.
