    Education
    ~ Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Degree

    Experience / Qualifications
    ~ Holds current licensure in the State of Florida as Physician Assistant

    ~ BLS/ACLS Certified American Heart for Health Care Providers

    ~ Demonstrates high quality case management abilities and clinical competency from previous experiences in patient care

    ~ National Certification in specialty preferred

    ~ Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing

    Position Summary
    The Physician Assistant has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of surgery patients.

    This OR-based position provides direct patient care working within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s).

    ~ Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.

    ~ Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.

    ~ Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.

    ~ Performs surgical procedures within scope of practice.

    ~ Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

    ~ Performs other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements
    ~ Frequent, prolonged walking, standing, bending and reaching. Pushing, pulling or moving/lifting 50 lbs. of equipment, supplies and patients.

    Threshold Requirements
    ~ These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis

    ~ Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation

    ~ TB/PPD Surveillance Program

    ~ Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s)
