Description
This is an FLSA Classified Non-Exempt Part Time Position.

ESL Nighttime Teacher also known as English as a second language nighttime teacher and is required to teach students whose first language is not English.

They are required to prepare lessons and teach them under the supervision of the ESL Nighttime Coordinator.

The teacher is required to commit to a schedule for 7.5 hours a week on Monday through Thursday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM with 30 minutes for planning each day.


Essential Functions:


1. Prepare study material and assignments for the students in coordination with the ESL Nighttime Coordinator in accordance of funding sources. Plan and implement ESL instruction based on diagnosed needs of the class level.


2. Collaborate with other teachers and ESL Nighttime Coordinator to design the study programs and curriculum.


3. Identify the individual and group requirements of the students and help them with the assignments accordingly. Create and maintain an instructional climate that is conducive to learning.


4. Work with Supervisor to track of attendance in Salesforce, and maintain paper attendance to submit to Supervisor weekly, report to Supervisor the students who are frequently absent.


5. Ensure that the students maintain discipline while in El Sol premises. Report any disciplinary issues to Supervisor as needed.


6. Perform pre and post-tests as required by funding source.


7. Maintain a record of the student's information and performance. Communicate with Supervisor any students who are not meeting expectation


8. Attend team meetings, in-service trainings or other team meetings called by Supervisor or Chief Program Officer.


9. Be creative with program development. Works with Supervisor to prepare for orientation/registration process and graduation ceremony at the beginning and end of each term.


10. Attends Registration one week prior to class starting to enroll students into program and assist with orientation.


11. Works with Supervisor to prepare Graduation documents for students and distributes certificates/awards at Graduation Ceremony at the end of semester


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Must have completed a four year degree or teacher certification.
  • Experience in teaching ESL classes
  • Independent and able to perform with limited supervision.
