The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a
_Research Program Assistant II _(RPA II) to work under the direct supervision of the Senior Research Program Supervisor to assist with reporting and manuscript preparation and day-to-day logístical and operational tasks for multiple research projects in the department.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and reporting requirements.
- Collects respiratory and blood samples from ED and hospitalized patients
- Collects, enters, and compiles clinical data from a variety of sources.
- Conducts specimen processing and biorepository inventory.
- Maintains paper and computerized research files.
- Prepares study records for internal/external audits and/or monitoring visits.
- Collaborates with participating study lab groups for biorepository sample pulls and data extraction requests.
- Schedules and conducts inperson/remote followup visits.
- Consents, enrolls, and interviews patients for research studies.
- Tracks missed appointment visits and contact attempts. Assists study team with appointment reminder calls and text messages.
- Assists program manager/supervisor as necessary with typing, filing, faxing, mass mailings, chart review, and documents, such as activity budgets and related documents.
- Coordinates and participates in study team meetings and trainings
- Monitors and maintain gift card and supply inventory including database.
- Assists with development, testing, and evaluation of manuals, questionnaires, and coding structures.
- Assists with data accuracy, quality control reviews and data validation
- Perform other duties as required.

- Must be comfortable collecting saliva, urine, or blood samples from patients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Independent and selfmotivated.
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong, positive interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and within a variety of cultures.
- Work Schedule/Hours_
- This person will be working 40 hours a week. (Shift hours varies)
- Must be available to work 8.5 hours shift includes a 30minute allocated lunch break, between the hours of 7:00 am and midnight, seven (7) days of the week.
- Must be flexible and available to work some evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalency.
- Two years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (fluency in Spanish and English preferred).
