    Description
    A large Material Handling Company is looking for a Business Development Manager.

    This person will be responsible for leading overall business development efforts from initiating customer outreach to preparing and leading customer workshops and lunch and learns.

    The primary goal of this role is to secure face-to-face meetings with potential clients by utilizing its vast network of contacts.

    The Business Development Manager qualifies leads and develops relationships with potential clients by educating and consulting them at an early stage in their decision-making process.

    This person must be willing and able to learn and educate themselves on both their customers and the industry as a whole, while also able to connect and build strong customer relationships.

    They must be a natural problem solver and able to offer customers creative solutions.

    About 80% of this position will involve building relationships with Third Party Logistics companies, and about 20% will be building relationships directly with potential customers.

    Consequently, strong technical knowledge on automated material handling systems will be necessary (though this will be trained).

    Additionally, this role will require travel to develop face to face relationships across the country, so 40% travel will be required.

    When the deal reaches advanced sales stages, it will be handed off to another member of the team.

    This is a true business development role, which will require sales experience, however, this person will not be the one closing the deals with customers.

    Required Skills & Experience


    • Bachelor's Degree in related field (marketing, sales, engineering)
    * 3+ years' experience with sales related role


    • Experience prospecting large complex business relationships.
    • Familiarity with supply chain or logistics
    • Willing to travel up to 40%
    • Excellent Speaker and comfortable speaking to large groups (i.e. leading lunch and learns)
    Nice to Have Skills & Experience


    • Direct Material Handling
    • Engineering background and wants to get into sales

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
