    Description
    Duties * Plan work for employees based on priorities.

    * Conduct comprehensive reviews of various items of information from personnel records and determines propriety with relation to actions requested.

    * Examine records and documents to ensure that there is adequate documentation provided in support of claimed skills proficiency. * Process IPPS-A transactions generated by unit/battalion/brigade and Directorate of Human Resources levels.

    * Perform the full range of duties in connection with in/out-processing including maintenance and security of Military Personnel Files and processing of personnel actions.

    * Process and/or review all categories of military personnel separations such as voluntary and involuntary office and enlisted separations, retirement requests, separation orders and retiree certificates.

    * Assist in planning the work of the section, assigns and review work, provides technical oversight, evaluates work performance of subordinates on a continuing basis, advise supervisor of personnel problems.

    * Perform standard troubleshooting functions on computer software to identify causes of problems and, if possible, makes required corrections.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the required SECRET security clearance. * Position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. * Employee must be willing and able to travel in military and commercial aircraft and vehicles. * Employee may be required to work overtime. * Employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Process human resources functions by applying personnel management principles, practices, and regulations; 2) Analyze personnel records to determine eligibilities; 3) Review transactions completed by lower-level employees for completeness and accuracy; AND 4) Advise lower-level employees in personnel daily operations.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).


    Time in Grade Requirement:

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

    All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.

    Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
