    Default job background
    Description

Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products - from start to finish. Whether it's consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone-come make with us

The Research team at Figma is undergoing a transformation to balance core strategy skill sets and user research to drive lasting business impact. As part of that transformation, we are hiring a Core Products Research Manager to lead a team of researchers across Figma's core products - Figma Design Editor (our browser based UX design tool), FigJam (our collaborative whiteboard tool), and DevMode (our tool that translates design into code). These tools collectively serve millions of users on a daily basis - and are the core revenue drivers of the business today. As such, the Core Products Research Manager will influence the most critical product decisions for the company. Beyond leading a team of researchers, this leader will embed with the Lead Product Manager, Design Lead, and Engineering Lead for our award winning Editor to actively shape and execute our research agenda to drive scale, tap new opportunities, and to ensure Editor continues pushing innovation in design tooling while also becoming more accessible to broader audiences. Because Figma is used by so many of the leading software companies around the world, you will be in a unique position to advance the state of the art for how UX design works across the entire industry.
    What you'll do at Figma:

    • Conduct in-depth research to gain insights into the diverse ways designers utilize Figma, from professionals to new users
    • Lead a team of researchers to proactively identify and prioritize research needs and potential problem areas across Figma's core products
    • Work directly with the Figma Design editor leads and become an expert in the core creation features of the Figma Editor and the ecosystems our users design for, such as web, mobile, and desktop apps
    • Partner with Head of Research and research leaders to refine our competency model and reshape the research practice
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
    • 8+ years of experience in UX research, human centered design, or user centric product management
    • 3+ years of experience managing teams
    • Previous experience working on design tools or high-complexity products
    • Proven experience leading user research initiatives in a fast-paced environment
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
    • A background or passion in design
    • A familiarity and depth of experience using Figma's products
    • Experience in other design tools or SaaS products
    • Ability to balance user research, strategy, business insights, team input, and intuition in decision-making processes
