    Job Description

    The Accounting Manager position is a full-time role on the property, reporting to both the General Manager and the corporate accounting department. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department to ensure the hotel's financial controls, records, and reporting are accurate and compliant.

    Responsibilities and Competencies:

    • Supervising, training, and managing assigned staff
    • Reviewing Night Audit Revenue Reports
      • Checking Ledgers, Miscellaneous postings, Revenue adjustments, Paid outs
      • Reconciling cash deposits and credit card settlements, handling Tax exemptions
    • Processing accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner
      • Reviewing monthly statements and bank reconciliations
      • Ensuring proper GL coding and identifying Use Tax applicability
    • Managing accounts receivable processing efficiently
    • Assisting with biweekly payroll processing if necessary
    • Assisting with general cashiering responsibilities if needed
    • Completing month-end closing procedures accurately
      • Preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Ensuring timely payments and reconciliations of loans, franchise fees, taxes, insurances, and leases
      • Preparing tax checks and electronic transfers on time
    • Participating in weekly accounting meetings with the corporate team
    • Aiding in annual budget preparation
    • Handling special projects assigned by General Manager or Corporate Accounting Department

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP)
    • 3+ years experience in hotel accounting or related field
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Demonstrated track record of achieving financial results
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Positive attitude and adaptability to changing market conditions
    • Capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting financial report deadlines
    • Professional integrity and adherence to policies
    • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, or accounting applications
    • Organizational skills for maintaining records
    • Effective communication and commitment to policies and procedures
