    Description

    A leading engineering and construction firm focused on renewable energy infrastructure, with a heavy emphasis on solar are seeking a PV Engineer who can take green field or empty roof all the way to a complete permittable drawing set.

    The Senior PV Engineer will lead technical and engineering aspects of solar PV site designs for commercial and utility-scale projects, from early-stage evaluation to system design and construction support.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Design complete PV systems, including mounting systems, electrical configurations, and equipment specifications.
    2. Provide technical input for site evaluation, permitting, interconnection agreements, and financial modeling.
    3. Conduct detailed energy production modeling and site evaluations.
    4. Lead technical aspects of permitting, utility coordination, and interconnection.
    5. Perform coordination studies and commissioning activities.
    6. Integrate energy storage systems into solar PV systems.
    7. Mentor and train junior engineering personnel.
    8. Develop and maintain design tools, standards, and specifications.
    9. Travel nationwide for site visits and project support as required.

    Required Qualifications:

    1. BS in electrical engineering or related discipline.
    2. 5+ years of experience designing commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.
    3. A comprehensive understanding of PV modeling, sizing, design, estimation, specification, procurement, construction, interconnection, and operation of a distributed generation solar photovoltaic power plant.
    4. Proficiency in PVSyst, Helio Scope, and related software.
    5. Working knowledge of National Electrical Code.
    6. Strong understanding of power systems and balance of system components.
    7. Ability to independently perform power system studies.
    8. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    9. Basic understanding of construction techniques and project management.

    Nice to have, if you have them:

    1. NABCEP certification.
    2. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Electrical.
    3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and related software.
    4. Hands-on experience with electrical and solar PV systems.
    5. Experience in building design with an MEP firm.
    6. Prior experience integrating energy storage systems.
    7. Employment experience with a Utility, ISO, IPP, or Professional Engineering firm.
    8. Experience leading other engineers.

    Location: New York, Albany, Syracuse - Hybrid in these offices or remote work possible for the right candidate.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Competitive salary ranges between $100,000 - $130,000 annually, levelled on experience.
