Your responsibilities with us

  • Management and further development of the scientific library and information center of the institute
  • Provision, evaluation, and further development of library services and research support services
  • Budget management in accordance with budgetary regulations, selection and purchasing decisions for physical and electronic resources in collaboration with the library commission
  • Acquisition, inventory, cataloging, and provision of physical and electronic resources
  • Negotiation and management of licenses
  • Maintaining contact with suppliers, publishers, and institutions in Germany and abroad
  • Managing the library system (PICA) and instructing employees (user and information services)
  • Providing expert advice and promoting information literacy (including planning and conducting training and tours)
  • Creating digital user aids, informational materials, and tutorials
  • Public relations for the library and information center (website, intranet, social media)
  • Participation in the Libraries Working
