Job Summary

The Part-Time Purchasing Assistant provides support to students, staff and administrators in the purchasing related functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assists the Culinary Outsourcing Specialist in requesting the purchase of materials, parts, supplies, food, wine, equipment and other commodities
Processes shipping and receiving orders for merchandise including uniforms, knives, food and non-food items for student labs
Assists in maintaining inventory control database using MICROS POS system
Assists with inventory control activities on all of the food, beverage and equipment stored in the facility
Builds and stocks carts for different teaching labs based on requisitions and restock par levels
Assists with preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports of purchase transactions
Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution; or Associate's degree and two (2) years of experience; or thirty (30) credits and three (3) years related experience
All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, and policies and procedures
Knowledge of Micros POS system
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in written format to groups and individuals
Possess effective work practices such as correct storage, handling, use and disposal procedures of various chemicals
Ability to work in high/low environment and be able to stand four to five hours a day
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures and ability to handle a high volume office environment
Possess excellent organizational skill
Ability to coordinate the workload for various simultaneous tasks
Ability to create and maintain records, enter and retrieve large amounts of data
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Additional Requirements
