Key Responsibilities
Identify, assess, audit, and manage PCB and PCBA suppliers for PCBA designs from AMAT with the goal of extending the approved PCBA vendors available to Applied Materials.
Drives the design and test documentation for new PCBA assemblies using industry standards.
Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform multiple root cause analysis, and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering and customer product issues.
Serve as the central technical PCBA interface for engineering, manufacturing, technical support, quality, product management and account team as the product(s) move through the Product Life Cycle.
Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports.
Interact with suppliers to resolve a variety of engineering, manufacturing, and test issues, up to including presentations to senior executives and customers.
To assess multiple Suppliers' technical capability to deliver PCBA products successfully.
Leads engineering team, projects, and programs in area of responsibility, and ensures that necessary preliminary activities are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of projects.
Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion.
Effectively utilizes common engineering technology and software packages for optimization of design development activities and timelines to ensure rapid commercialization.
Bachelor of Science or master's in electrical engineering
7-10 years direct experience in the manufacturing Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
Expert in PCB and PCBA design and test documentation standards
Expert in PCBA testing methods and test equipment
Good knowledge in IPC-610 standards
Direct experience with testing and troubleshooting prototype PCB assemblies
Experience working for a PCB assembly manufacturer
Competent in reviewing, auditing, and analyzing Supply chain capability, trends, and potential shortcomings with respect to complex PCBA sourcing, manufacture, and test
